Tetris has historically been one of the most popular games for graphing calculators and other gaming devices. ZTris is the most popular TI-83+/TI-84+ version, using ASM to achieve high speed and fun gameplay. However, almost all the TI-BASIC Tetris games in the archives are disappointing, slow, and in many cases, barely functional. Basic Tetris by the inimitable Daniel "tifreak8x" Thorneycroft has achieved the impressive feat of a Tetris game in TI-BASIC that follows most of the real game rules while staying fun. The fact that this game is written for both the color TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition and the earlier monochrome calculators is icing on the cake. Anyone who has played Tetris before will immediately understand how to play this version, and you'll while away many an hour fitting those Tetrominos together. Gameplay: 9/10 - The lack of hard drop is regrettable, but unavoidable. Graphics: 10/10 - Color graphscreen TI-BASIC graphics. Couldn't do better without using Hybrid BASIC. Speed: 9.9/10 - Few BASIC coders could get this amount of functionality with this amount of speed. Replayability: 9.5/10 It's Tetris. The missing 0.5 points is for a high score feature. Overall: 10/10
