Audio Player for Casio Prizm
  1. All files
  2. Casio Prizm (fx-CG) Programs and Games

Description

This is updated version of the wave player.
Changes:
- COM speed increased 4x (to 460800), so it is 1/4 of COM speed used by fxPlayer. This means sound quality is better, but do not expect miracles. I was able to directly access the sio registers (thank you Simon :-) ), but it seems the serial port is less powerful compared to the one in 9860G (one speed register is missing and fifo is only 16 B).
- player remained synchronous, but it is able to play the whole wav - it creates the map of the file in flash and while playing it reads the file from flash directly (see source for details)

I am not sure I will be able to increase the sound quality, I thing I touch the HW limits

Before downloading this add-in, I would highly recommend reading this thread: https://www.omnimaga.org/casio-calculator-programming-news-and-support/audio-player-for-casio-prizm/msg286816/

You need a very specific kind of audio file, and a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. Once you've plugged it in, open the add-in, and demo.wav immediately starts playing.
With my headphones I can just about make out what I loaded onto the calculator's flash drive. This add-in was programmed for the CASIO fx-CG20, but it works fine on the fx-CG50.

Good add-in

I really love this application, I can still impress my classmates and also my math teachers by listening (awful sounding) music from my calculator. I think it is pretty amazing that this is possible. Thank you for developing it!
One thing you maybe could improve is making possible that also larger sound files with up to, idk, 10mb could be played. But all in all, it is perfect!

I downloaded this pogram and I did not know where to put files for it o read or what kind of files it could read. Which port does the sound come out of? These would be awesome to know, but, I'm sure it works great. Nice job! Please answer these quesitons though. :)

I have tried using the program after I downloaded the file to the calculator, but there was a problem. When I went to the main menu screen the app didn't appear, so I repeated the process of downloading it again. When I went to the main menu the app did appear, but yet again when I clicked on it the screen went white and it said file downloaded error. If you could get back to me at my email: young.donald68@yahoo.com that would be great because I am really anxious to use this program.
